Looking for some fun this festive season? On 16 November the city of Glasgow will switch on their Christmas lights officially marking the start of the holiday season in the city and kicking off a string of festive events.
Glasgow comes alive at Christmas and there’s no better way to get around town and see all the landmarks than with Glasgow’s very own open-top bus tour. A tour ticket is valid for one or two consecutive days on the distinctive red City Sightseeing buses and you can hop on and hop off as often as you like at any of the 28 stops on our tour route. The main George Square departure point means you’ll definitely get a good look at the amazing festive decorations and activities in the heart of the city.
George Square itself is an amazing place to start your journey through Glasgow as it hosts Scotland’s largest outdoor ice rink, which opens on 27 November through until 31 December. Skate under the stars in the heart of the city and take a ride on the Big Wheel for those picturesque aerial views!
After enjoying the activities in George Square, hop on the Glasgow City Sightseeing bus and buckle up for a fantastic tour with stops that include Botanic Gardens, Glasgow Cathedral, Glasgow Science Centre, Merchant City, Kelvingrove Museum & Art Gallery, plus many more. The hop-on-and-off nature of the tour means that you can stop at any time to grab lunch, explore the city on foot and even do some festive shopping!
Need more reason to visit Glasgow around Christmas? How about the Style Mile Christmas Carnival on the 23rd of November with a festival carnival parade through the city centre. Don’t miss the rare spectacle of hundreds of Santa’s running through the streets of Glasgow with the Santa’s Dash on 7th December for some great photo opportunities.
Open Top bus tours of Glasgow are available all year round, including the festive season. Book your 1 or 2 day open top bus tour ticket now!
